Brand Focus: Knoll International

Knoll International is recognised worldwide as a design leader, dedicated to excellence and committed to offering customers elegantly designed products for home and office use. The award-winning company, founded in 1938, has more than 30 products included in the Design Collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The KnollStudio collection of modern design classics features some of the most important pieces of the 20th Century - Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair, Eero Saarinen's Tulip Collection, the Florence Knoll Sofa to name but a few.

We have recently refreshed our in store display of Knoll furniture to highlight these, plus contemporary pieces from the collection.

Journal: Knoll - Avio Sofa & Saarinen Coffee Table

Piero Lissoni's Avio compact 3 seat sofa, upholstered in dark blue Crociera fabric, has been placed with two Wassily chairs in black belting leather, along with a Saarinen oval coffee table in rich green Verde Alpi marble. The elegant shapes of the sofa are complemented by the flowing curves of the coffee table and the minimalist lines of Marcel Breuer's famous Bauhaus era chair.

Journal: Knoll International - Conference Chair & Platner Table

We have paired Eero Saarinen's Conference Relax side chairs with Warren Platner's eponymous dining table, designed in 1966, in clear glass and nickel. The chairs are upholstered in moss-coloured Tosca fabric, matched with natural wood legs.

Journal: Knoll International - Wassily Chair

A pair of Wassily chairs make another appearance - this time in a less well-known option than belting leather: natural canvas. The neutral tone softens the design a little whilst contrasting perfectly with the brilliant chrome of the frame. They are displayed here with an archive edition of Zeev Aram's Altra coffee table (not available for sale) on a Gubi x Golran rug in water lily colour.
