Marcel Breuer Wassily Chair

The Wassily Chair occupies a very special place in our hearts here at Aram. Zeev Aram was the first to introduce the chair to the UK market in 1964, and it was the first item sold when Aram Designs Ltd first opened at 57 Kings Road that year. We chose it as the design with which to celebrate our sixtieth anniversary in 2024 by creating a special edition made exclusively for us by Knoll International.

It is still one of the most recognisable designs of the Bauhaus era. Marcel Breuer's experimentation with tubular steel - famously inspired by the handle bars of his Adler bicycle - led to an entire genre of modern furniture that is as timeless today as it was in 1925.
