The Knoll Barcelona chair is one of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s most recognisable designs. Created for the German Pavilion at the 1929 Barcelona World Fair, it has become an icon of the International or Modernist style. The simple, graceful elegance of its lines and the superior quality of its licensed production by Knoll Studio are instantly apparent in the craftsmanship of the luxurious leather upholstery, 40 individual panels hand welted from a single hide. The trademark, edition number and Mies van der Rohe’s signature are stamped into the hand ground and polished solid steel frame as proof of authenticity. Available in a very wide range of leather grades and colours (contact the store to see all samples) and may be accompanied by a matching footstool and day bed.
