Description

Flos Seki-Han floor lamp designed by Tobia Scarpa features two vertical ash wood blades joined by chromed metal fittings, sitting on a matt black iron base. The blades rotate around a central tubular light source to allow variable light emission. Custom-developed dimmable linear LED light source. The lamp can also be fitted with standard T8 LED tubes. Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1963 and reissued in 2025, Seki-Han is testament to his mastery of design and wood-working expertise. The intricate construction draws on naval techniques to shape two wooden blades that rotate around the light source. Even when almost completely closed, a sliver of light remains visible. Named after a traditional Japanese rice dish served on special occasions, Seki-Han joins the immateriality of light with the tactility of wood.
