The mission of Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S is to design and market unique lighting in the form of products which create ambience for people and fixtures. These products must have a functional design and be of high quality. Louis Poulsen's lighting philosophy is summed up in the words function, comfort and ambience. Established in 1874 in Copenhagen, Louis Poulsen builds on a legacy of creating luxury lighting, believing that passionate craftmanship, quality materials and innovative designs are instrumental in producing the high quality light for which the company is renowned. Honouring the Danish design tradition, the designs are based on the principle that form follows function - light is a material that can be formed and shaped.
