Designed as an exercise in clarifying form, Eero Saarinen's Tulip chair sets new standards for modern design. Introduced in 1956, this design won the MoMA award in 1969. The base is coated cast aluminium with felt glides to aid movement. The seat shell is moulded fibreglass. The inner shell is available either upholstered in fabric or leather or unupholstered. Frame can be white or black. Available as both an armchair and side chair.
