George Nakashima is best known for his unique pieces of furniture, which are prized for their respect for the natural forms of the tree and the inherent grain of the wood. Originally designed for Knoll in the late 1940’s, the Straight Chair has been recently reintroduced into the product line. Available on 'Quickship'Constructed from solid American Walnut, turned American Walnut legs and stretchers, and contrasting Hickory spindles, clear low-sheen finish.
American Walnut exhibits a high degree of natural color characteristics, ranging from chocolate, grey and purplish-brown to deep honey. Color variation will soften and become more uniform over time.
