Channel Incense Holder

Channel Incense Holder by David Searcy. Searcy is an emerging designer based in London whose practice often explores the manipulation of readily available materials to form functional designs – apparent with Channel. The incense holder is manufactured from a standard piece of aluminium channel section (40x20x2) that is adapted to form the incense holder. The base is first drilled, and then processed with 2 parallel cuts, allowing the surface to be bent at a 45 degree angle and hold the incense stick (not included) at the optimum angle. The side walls of the channel naturally form an enclosure to capture the ash. Channel is an exercise in simplicity that achieves a high degree of functionality through the most efficient means.
