Aslak Chair

Aslak Chair by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Artek. Designed in 1956 Aslak is a stackable chair which is made of solid beechwood. This versatile and lightweight chair features short and rounded armrests allowing it to be pulled closer to desks and dining tables. Featuring a curved seat and backrest ensuring a comfortable sit. The designer, Tapiovaara, a pioneer of modern Finnish design, aimed to combine plasticity with the economical use of materials which is demonstrated perfectly with the Aslak Chair.
