Akari 33N Pendant Light

Akari 50EN Pendant Light by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra. Originally designed in 1951, Akari 33N is part of the Akari Light Sculptures family. For the name of this lighting series he chose the word 'akari', the Japanese terms for brightness and light, and also lightness. Handcrafted from traditional washi paper by Japanese artisans. ‘The harshness of electricity is thus transformed through the magic of paper back to the light of our origin – the sun.’ (Noguchi).
