Description
The A201 pendant lamp by Alvar Aalto made by Artek was created in 1952 for the library of Säynätsalo Town Hall in central Finland. The sculptural simplicity of the cylindrical forms allows light to be emitted from both upper and lower portions. Aalto sought to make the light as soft and indirect as possible and this is enhanced by the perforated brass ring detail.
