Home Stories for Winter 2026
Home is where we feel most at ease - a cosy retreat where we can relax, recharge and fully be ourselves. It’s also a reflection of who we are, shaped by our tastes, passions and daily routines. This winter, Vitra takes us inside two homes in Berlin and Bern to capture the special moments that unfold in these personal spaces.
To bolster the theme of relaxation at home, we also have a special offer available until 31 January 2027:
Buy a Grand Relax, Repos or Grand Repos lounge chair and receive a matching Ottoman or Panchina as a free gift.
All three lounge chairs feature an innovative deep tilt mechanism that allows the chair to be reclined and fixed at your desired angle, making them superlatively comfortable. Available in a wide range of upholstery fabrics and leathers, with a choice of base finish. Contact the store for more info and to see examples on display.
Based in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Sebastian Soukup is a German production designer and film architect who lives and works from his 19th century apartment. With a deep passion for unique objects and curated furniture pieces that tell a story, he creates interiors rich in character and individuality.
“A room feels right when it responds to my mood and meets my needs - a place where I can switch off and let go of the outside world.”
Sebastian Soukup
Sebastian's apartment features the new Bascule lounge chair, launched to great acclaim this autumn. Also shown are the Panton Cube giraffe, the Suita daybed and several examples from the Eames Plastic Chair Collection.
Swiss interior designer Stephanie Aebischer shares an historic apartment in the heart of Bern’s old town with her husband and dog. Her home also doubles as a showroom, where she welcomes clients and expresses her love of colours, fabrics and special objects resulting in spaces that are both personal and inspiring.
“Working out of our own apartment is deeply personal by nature. We open our home to clients and share a glimpse of our everyday life.”
Stephanie Aebischer
Also featured in Stephanie's apartment are the Eames Soft Pad EA 222 lounge chair and EA 223 stool, the Mariposa sofa, Noguchi coffee table and the Mynt Soft, added to the Mynt chair collection this autumn.
