Minima Shelving by Bruno Fattorini for MDF Italia. Minima is a versatile aluminium bookcase system featuring three key elements: shelves, frame and cabinets. All three elements can be freely configured allowing the user to adapt to the storage requirements desired. Minima is one of MDF’s most iconic products which has been acknowledged by receiving the Honourable Mention at the 18th Compasso d’Oro ADI in 1998. Part of the Principle of Lightness Collection and to celebrate MDF Italia’s 30th Anniversary it has been re-produced in a hand polished aluminium finish. Other Minima systems can be seen below. Polishing makes the whole bookcase shine, enhancing its simple design and the reduction of the cross-sections of the shelves and uprights. Each and every component is brushed manually using specialised rotary machines and abrasive/polishing pastes that remove any surface roughness for a smooth, shiny surface.
