Description

The Wassily Chair by Marcel Breuer was designed in 1925 whilst apprenticed at the Bauhaus, with his inspiration being the lightness of the tubular steel frame of his first bicycle. Breuer made a duplicate of the prototype for his fellow alumnus, the painter Wassily Kandinsky, and thus the 'Model B3' was dubbed the Wassily Chair by post-war maker Gavina. The authorised manufacturer is now Knoll with their logo and Breuer's signature stamped into each chair frame. Available in a wide range of colours in either cowhide, belting leather or hairy hide. Quickship: black cowhide 80 - 3 weeks
