Mynt Chair Plywood by Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra. New for 2025 Mynt is a versatile all-rounder that suits work from home office environments as well as dining areas thanks to the understated design. The key feature of Mynt is it’s patented mechanism which allows Mynt to be easily height adjusted and tilted with an automatic weight adjustment and locking feature. All variants of Mynt have swivel functionality allowing the user to rotate as desired. Covers can be easily removed and replaced by zip. Mynt - Sit Differently

As with cycling, climbing stairs and countless other everyday pursuits, the body remains in a state of active balance when sitting on Mynt thanks to its patented mechanism that prompts the user to continually perform a range of smaller and larger movements. Mynt not only provides a new seating experience, but dynamic sitting has also been shown to have a positive impact on physical health and well-being.

The patented mechanism is the core element of Mynt. Activated by human weight, it tilts backwards or forwards in response to shifts in the sitter's weight and position. The seat moves independently of the backrest and the resistance automatically adapts to the user's weight. The only thing that has to be adjusted is the height.

Mynt is designed for sustainable longevity with exchangeable parts: the upholstery, glides and castors can be replaced or renewed by the user, while the seat and backrest in recycled plastic or wood can be exchanged by trained service staff. Mynt consists of up to 80% recycled materials and is 99% recyclable at the end of its product life – plus its seat cushion consists of V-Foam, the world’s first economically recyclable polyurethane foam, which was developed by Vitra in collaboration with BASF.

Mynt can be refreshed and adapted to new requirements as needed. The seat and backrest come in a choice of two materials: wood veneer or recycled polyamide made from 100% post-industrial sources, which can be replaced or exchanged for the other version as required. The four-star base can be simply converted from glides to castors – and vice versa – by users themselves. For softer comfort, the seat and backrest can be fitted with upholstered covers. Thanks to zip fasteners, the upholstery can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement.
