Sebastian Herkner was born in 1981 in Bad Mergentheim. He studied product design at HfG Offenbach am Main, and focused on designing objects and furniture merging various cultural contexts during his studies. In 2006 he founded his own studio for product, interior and exhibition design in Offenbach am Main. Although still at the beginning of his career, Sebastian’s success is already reflected in numerous awards and prizes, among them the 2011 German Design Award in the Newcomer category. Today, Sebastian works for international companies designing furniture and lamps, porcelain and glass, and also curates and stages exhibitions dealing with design.
ClassiCon has, from its inception, aspired not only to offer pieces by established figures such as Eileen Gray and Eckart Muthesius but also to foster contemporary design and to present selected examples alongside these classics from current designers such as Konstantin Grcic and Barber & Osgerby.
ClassiCon produces and sells the Eileen Gray Collection as worldwide licensee of Aram Designs Ltd, London. In the early 1970s, Eileen Gray began to collaborate with Zeev Aram to develop her furniture and lamps for series production. Eileen Gray then transferred marketing rights for her designs to Aram in 1973.
The ClassiCon brand stands for quality, individuality and a timeless aesthetic – regardless of passing fashions.
