Sushi Samba, Covent Garden

ARCHITECT: TOO MANY AGENCIES
LOCATION: COVENT GARDEN, LONDON
PROJECT COMPLETED 2018

Sushi Samba, the global restaurant chain renowned for alchemically fusing the flavours of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cooking, opened a second London site in late 2018. This striking new restaurant is located in the heart of Covent Garden, perched atop the historic Market Building in the Central Square, and has a very different feel on the inside to their vertiginous counterpart within the Heron Tower on Bishopsgate.  Aram Contracts were approached by the Belgian design studio, Too Many Agencies, to assist and advise on furnishing the space which features a 128-seat dining room, a bar for up to 26, a sushi counter with 14 seats, external terrace overlooking the bustling square below plus a “living ceiling” planted with South American and Japanese plants and foliage that envelops you upon arrival.  It will make a serious dent in anyone’s Instagram profile!

The turnaround for the project was time precious and Aram Contracts acted quickly and efficiently in selecting and presenting design-led yet commercially suitable products that could meet the opening deadline.  We are very pleased with the results and look forward to working with Too Many Agencies again soon.
