Working with Author Studio, we supplied furniture for The Village at Westfield London, a newly repositioned retail environment centred around wellness and hospitality. The brief focused on creating a series of seating areas that feel closer to a high-end hotel or private members' club than a traditional retail setting. Comfort and visual cohesion were key, alongside the need to define distinct zones within an open, high-footfall space. As described by Author Studio, "the goal was to create a moment of pause, a sense of retreat as you enter the space."

The specification brought together a mix of pieces from Moroso, Tacchini, Gervasoni, Norr11 and Andreu World. Central to the scheme are Moroso's Gogan sofas, used to anchor each seating area, alongside lounge chairs, side tables and custom rugs by CS Rugs. Non-standard upholstery was selected across key pieces to ensure durability in a heavily used public environment. Bespoke planters were developed with Principle Global to follow the geometry of the seating arrangements, helping to subtly divide the space while introducing planting that supports the overall design intent. This aligns with the studio's approach of "varying green shades, textures and finishes reflecting a natural weaving landscape."

Installation required careful coordination, with all deliveries and fit-out completed overnight in line with Westfield's operational requirements. Having worked at Westfield London since its opening in 2008, our role was consultative throughout, advising on materials and product suitability based on long-standing experience within the centre.
