For Aram and the majority of our clients, sustainability is a key factor in most projects with recyclability, carbon emissions, pollution, product lifecycle and overall environmental impact being important considerations. We only work with responsible suppliers who take these issues seriously and demonstrate commitment through their design and manufacturing processes. During the specification stage we discuss and understand a client's needs and values, and through our knowledge of qualitative attributes, we regularly advise clients on which product or brand will best fulfil a sustainability brief. We also provide advice on environmentally conscious logistic and install options, with the aim of helping a client meet sustainable tagets throughout the project. ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed and recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems. An EMS supports organisations in identifying, managing, monitoring and controlling environmental processes.
The standard is suitable for all types and sizes of organisation – including private, non-profit and governmental – and requires organisations to assess environmental issues relevant to their operations, such as waste management, resource use and efficiency.

FSC Certification
The Forest Stewardship Council produce the FSC certification that confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers whilst ensuring it sustains economic viability.
Every FSC label is backed by a diverse eco-system of forest managers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and others committed to upholding a common set of responsible forestry standards that support:
- zero deforestation
- safeguarding of ancient and endangered forests
- fair wage and work environment
- biodiversity preservation
- community rights, including the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel (Furniture and Fittings 031) promotes circular economy during manufacturing and during the life of a product.
Over-consumption of Earth's Resources and the amount of waste we produce keeps growing; the aim of Nordic Swan is to stop the linear economy where manufacturers produce products and sell them to consumers who throw them away after use.
Nordic Swan Ecolabel was one of the founders of the international network for ISO 14024 Type 1 ecolabels, the Global Ecolabelling network, GEN.

EU Ecolabel
The EU Ecolabel is a world-renowned, voluntary scheme promoting goods and services that clearly demonstrate environmental excellence, based on standardised processes and scientific evidence.
Launched in 1992, the EU Ecolabel logo has become a byword for quality while meeting the highest environmental standards. It means products (goods and services) displaying the iconic "EU flower" symbol meet all the criteria.
EU Ecolabel is the only EU-wide ISO 14024 Type I ecolabelling scheme. Recognised throughout Europe, it is multi-criteria and tackles the main environmental impacts of products along their full lifecycle, from extraction of raw material to disposal.

FISP

Label STEP is the fair trade non-profit organisation committed to the wellbeing of weavers and workers in the handmade carpet industry.

Greenguard
Greenguard Certification verifies that a product has low chemical and particle emissions of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds, such as formaldehyde) which helps reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure.
VOCs that easily become vapours or gases are often found in products like mattresses, flooring and wall paints.
Greenguard Certification ensures that products have been scientifically proven to have low chemical emissions, contributing to healthier indoor air quality.
