At the heart of a major refurbishment and expansion lies a café which is open through the day and into the evening and serves locally sourced, seasonal British food from a leading British chef. The elegant, linear café is situated alongside the trees in Whitworth Park on the first floor of the wing. Since completion the project has been awarded Winner of Visit England's gold prize for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2016 and winner of the Art Fund's Museum of the Year 2015.

Aram Contracts worked with MUMA to choose a chair which complemented the building design without taking the visitor's eye away from the views available through the large expanse of glass windows, surrounding three sides of the café.  As the underside of the chairs could also be seen from the ground, we changed the fittings from a black to a specific RAL colour, allowing them almost to disappear into the stainless steel chair frames. Full delivery and installation was completed in Manchester by our team of installers.
