Rhodes House
FURNITURE CONSULTANCY / PROCUREMENT / PROJECT MANAGEMENT / DELIVERY / INSTALLATION
ARCHITECT: STANTON WILLIAMS
LOCATION: OXFORD
PROJECT COMPLETED: 2023
Rhodes House, designed by Sir Herbert Baker and completed in 1929, is located on South Parks Road in historic Oxford. It serves as the headquarters for the Rhodes Trust, overseeing the Rhodes Scholarships at the University of Oxford and other global fellowship programs. In collaboration with the Rhodes Trust, Stanton Williams transformed Rhodes House and its gardens. Their respectful interventions complement Baker's architecture, doubling the usable space and significantly improving environmental performance.
We worked with Stanton Williams for several years to consult on and specify loose furniture throughout the entire site, including office spaces, gardens, the staff café, a new fifty-seat glazed pavilion, and a new 300-seat conference hall. This included pieces from Fritz Hansen, Howe, and Humanscale. Additionally, we managed the intricate procurement, delivery, and installation process required for a project of this scale.
