Ombra Lounge Chair by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina. Designed in 1953 at a similar time to the Ombra Tokyo Chair (can be seen below). The name Ombra translates as 'Shadow' in Italian and derives from the interplay between the object and its ombra. A very elegant piece showcasing Perriands aesthetic where functionality is maximised and structure is minimilised resulting in a very inventive lounge chair. The strict geometric lines of the seat and back-rest slot perfectly one into the other, making them look as if they are one, continuous, piece. Chromed steel legs with an arrany of upholstery options. Please contact the store for more info.
