The Giro is an excellent example of industrial engineering. Four cylindrical legs in chromed metal support a ring, also in chromed metal, rotating on ball bearings. The circular shaped seat rests on it, sprung on elastic tie rods. The sides and the back in curved veneered plywood, recessed in the base, contain the padded cushions in rubber and down, covered in leather. The barrel shape allows the chair to swivel 360 degrees within the same circumference. Designed in 1963 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, made by Zanotta, purchased in 1964.
