Born in Madrid in 1974 and educated in Madrid and Paris, Hayon was, at Lucian Benetton’s request, appointed head of design for Benetton in 1998. In 2004 he founded his own studio, designing numerous eclectic projects for toys, furniture, interior design and art installations. In furniture, his best known work is perhaps the Showtime collection for BD Barcelona Design, a series that includes storage cabinets and accessories. Aram Store features Jaime’s Showtime Lounger and, in September 2006, Aram Gallery staged a self-titled exhibition of his work to great acclaim. Recently, Hayon has also collaborated with Fritz Hansen, Cassina and &Tradition - some of which is shown below.
