House of Finn Juhl

Ivan Hansen and Hans Henrik Sørensen were granted the exclusive rights to manufacture and relaunch Finn Juhl's sculptural and iconic furniture by Finn Juhl's widow Hanne Wilhelm Hansen in 2001. Since that time, the Finn Juhl collection has grown to more than 50 classic masterpieces, all of which we manufacture with the utmost respect for the original heritage and strict demands for quality.

"When we relaunch Finn Juhl's furniture we always try to figure out what he originally intended. We study the drawings closely and compare them to the original furniture pieces, which we measure. We know that Finn Juhl often disagreed with the cabinetmakers in terms of his organic expression. As we are unable to ask for Finn Juhl's advice today, we have to try our very best to put ourselves in his shoes and imagine what he would have wanted, to achieve the intended expression. No precise answer exists."

Still today, the largest part of the collection is produced in Denmark, with a few selected wooden frames proudly produced in Japan. Skilled and experienced craftspeople are committed to upholding the rich tradition of fine woodworking, ensuring that every piece produced is a testament to the artistry and skill that goes into its creation. It is crucial that local production and traditional craftsmanship continues to be found in Denmark in the future. In 2022, the House of Finn Juhl expanded its Danish production by acquiring a 100-year-old furniture factory in the city of Vejen, Denmark.
