Celebrating the Sideboard

Celebrating the Sideboard

Often the unsung hero of the dining room, the sideboard gained prominence in the 19th century as households became prosperous enough to dedicate a separate room solely to dining. The dining table is obviously the focus of the room but a sideboard is a complementary piece that is not only practical but also aesthetically important. Also referred to almost interchangeably as a credenza, buffet or server, its purpose is to provide neat storage for tableware such as glassware, cutlery, fine china, candles, napkins and tablecloths, and will often consist of a combination of cabinets and drawers. The top surface is a space from which to serve the meal and on which to display impressive decorative items when not in use.

Tambour Sideboard in Aram Store

Its use does not have to be restricted to the dining room, of course. It can be just as useful in the living room, bedroom, home office or hallway, for example. As with many pieces of furniture, key considerations for buying a sideboard are size, function and look. How much space do you want it to take up and what exactly do you want to put in it? Does it need to fit in with existing decor or will it be the starting point for a new interior scheme? Aram Store offers a wide variety of solutions to these questions - including completely bespoke modular configurations that can be tailored specifically to your needs. Our experienced sales staff use powerful CAD software for brands such as USM, Montana and Porro and will help to narrow down what can seem bewildering choices.

To celebrate this unsung hero, we are offering 15% discount off all sideboards until the end of August 2021. Discounted prices are shown on the relevant product pages.
