Flos Lighting

Established in 1962 in Merano, Italy, by Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina, Flos is recognized as a world leading manufacturer of innovative lighting solutions in the residential, outdoor and architectural sectors, featuring high quality products and systems characterised by timeless design. The origin of Flos, meaning flower in Latin, blossomed from a brilliant idea: to create objects which would enhance the way of lives of their owners. With Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Afra and Tobia Scarpa and other masters of design, Flos' commitment and creative imagination transformed the concept of lighting design and led to the creation of the most iconic lamps in the history of lighting.

For sixty years Flos has been crafting objects of light and shedding brightness on generations of dreams. For them, light is the substance for expressing new ideas and illuminating unexplored emotions. Flos write the future, reading their past and expressing the present. A continuity of positive challenges and bold choices has shaped their image and identity. The history of Flos has taught the company to fan the flames of provocation with research into new poetic notions of functionality.
