About this brand: Chisel & Mouse
Chisel & Mouse
Chisel & Mouse was started by Robert & Gavin Paisley in 2011. They employ a simple approach focusing on making high quality, handmade models using local and UK resources. Their models are handmade with each one being individually crafted by a small team of skilled model makers in their Sussex studio. Technology plays a large part in the process. They use 3D printing for rapid prototyping of the models before returning to traditional techniques of sculpting, mould making and plaster casting to build the finished models. By blending state-of-the-art techniques with traditional model making skills Chisel & Mouse have created an inspired collection of high-quality models which are beautiful to the eye and touch.

Details

Handmade in Sussex, England, these models are made of strong resin solvent-free plaster that has a reassuring weight and a smooth, cool feel. The window frames and door are made of etched brass. Packed in a strong black card presentation box. Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Building, "The Mac" or "Toshie" as it is commonly known, was voted Britain's favourite building of the last 175 years in a 2009 RIBA poll. It is at the heart of the Glasgow School of Art's campus. Building work was started in 1897 to a design created by the school's most famous alumnus, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. He was a leading proponent of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements in the United Kingdom. The Mackintosh Building is his masterwork.
